Rumor milling
I’m hearing rumors that Glock will introduce a carbine by late next year, either 5.56 taking AR mags or a multi-caliber model with interchangeable barrels. Of course, such rumors have been in the internet gun community since the advent of the internet gun community.

And it will pass through airport x-ray machines without being detected, and it will be a gun designed specifically for mowing down children in the street, and it will spray bullets on its own accord, especially if fired from the hip, self-targeting puppies and babies.
And the grip will feel like a 2×4. And it will melt in the trunk of a car on a summer day in Texas. And it will be ugly, ugly, ugly.
And it will be taken over by Skynet on Judgment Day and used against all of humanity because it is inherently evil.
Just a guess….

I don’t understand why all of the popular handgun makers haven’t copied Beretta’s CX4 Storm. A nice pistol-caliber carbine that uses the same mags as a carry pistol. Even better if it were somewhat cheaper than the CX4. If Glock or Sig made one at the $500 price point, I bet it would sell like hotcakes. I am definitely a fan of my Kel-Tec Sub 2000. And 1911 fans have long had the Marlin Camp Carbine, although it is no longer made.
It would be cool to see a 5.56 Glock carbine, although I’d really like to see a mag-compatible pistol-caliber Glock carbine first.

I’ve actually talked with friends about this very issue. I’d love to see Glock make an AR variant (or at least a 5.56mm carbine that takes AR mags and has similar controls, if different internals).
I suspect such a gun would be reliable as always, not terribly expensive, and durable.
Really, I don’t see why they haven’t done it before: their pistols are carried by most police departments worldwide, so why do the cops have to turn to other vendors for their rifles? You’d think Glock would have been all over this a while back.
