Comp-Tac MTAC Review update
I did a mini-review of it here. I also said I’d let them know about the issue. I did. And I received the following today:
Thank you for those pictures and input – we have entered a new order today and will hopefully get it shipped out to you today – along with a SASE to send that defective holster back. We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention and apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks and have a great day!
I continue to be impressed with their customer service.

That’s why I own 3 Comp-Tac holsters and will own more.
Aside from that, the fit and they work.

Rabbit.

I use my Comp-Tac holster with a Glock 19. In daily use, banged around on my person, it lasted 2 years and one day before one of the kydex to kydex “welds” broke.
Comp-Tac was sympathetic when I called them, but over 1 year past the warranty they did not replace it.
Use of some PVC “glue” (MEK) re-welded the kydex. The holster is still in daily use with zero problems six months later.
Comp-Tac is a quality product.

I got a very similar rig from Crossbreed holsters. Kydex on leather, but the leather shield is a bit larger and provides excellent insulation between me and the Kel-Tec PF9 which it carries. Still haven’t figured the contortions necessary to tuck a T or polo shirt in around it. Shirt over the rig and it’s perfect–actually that’s more the style anyway.
When winter sweaters and sweats return, the Kimber in Kramer outfit will be swapped into service.

Sigh. Now I have to save up for a couple (one for each carry pistol). Curse them for having a high quality product and excellent customer service!
I can’t really blame them for not replacing a product a year past it’s warranty, especially something that routinely gets “knocked around” like holsters do. Everything else sounds like what I like in customer service.

Jake, I do not blame C-Tac for not replacing a 2 year old holster. I commend them for being sympathetic and not laughing out loud when I called to ask if they would….
And I commend them for using materials and designs that can be repaired to as-good-as-or-better-than new with 10 cents of glue and a spring clamp.
