Other than his really dramatic hair, Governor Perry is respected here in Texas for his undramatic demeanor, competent executive ability and principled behavior.
If he doesn’t run for president in 2012, many will wonder why not.
Palin/Jindal or Perry/Jindal or Palin/Perry would be a landslide in 2012. Jindal would make a fine president, but his youth presents some problems that a term or two as Veep would fix.
Yes, Texas has done all right in governors for the past few years.
Perry can be as slippery as any other politician about some items, like his trans-Texas corridor boondoggle, but on gun bills he has been rock solid. The few times I have talked to him personally about shooting and the TSRA National Match Team, he started talking shotguns and Sporting Clays….never a good sign, but here he is on the shop floor at a Texas gun maker. LaRue is the real deal. If you never buy anything else, buy a couple of hats. They really ARE the best damn caps in the world.
LaRue supported the TSRA Highpower Rifle Championship, Service Rifle Championship and Mid-Range Championships with very generous doorprizes. They support the shooting sports and military. Doesn’t get much better than that.
Oddly enough, they make a pretty good meat rub: Dillo Dust. Go figure. Must be Rennaissance men.
Gov. Perry is planning to call the Texas Ledge into special session to take care of unfinished business. I’m hoping that includes the Campus Personal Protection Act (concealed carry on campus bill), but we’ll just have to wait & see…

Makes my Governator look like a fake-o punk squid. 🙁

Deval Patrick would have wet himself.
My only complaint is the lack of eye protection. Remember he works for the people of Texas, he should protect those eyes!
Plus it sets a good example for the kids!
