Guns on trains
So, if I read this correctly, they’re comparing checking firearms on trains (just like we do on airplanes) with the Madrid bombings? And the truth about that is buried at the bottom.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Yes, because someone planning a Colin Ferguson-style train shooting or perhaps a multiple shooter rampage terrorist attack is going to declare and check their weaponry.
THERE IS LITERALLY NO LOGIC TO THEIR FEAR WHATSOEVER. These people are so fucking stupid it hurts.

Not stupid, evil.

Frak, rail passengers should be allowed to carry their firearms loaded and concealed on their persons. If a madman starts shooting wildly, what good are the guns of the law-abiding if they’re in zippered bags behind locked doors?
Of course, to achieve that we’d have to have nationally valid concealed carry, or at least in every state where AmTrak provides service.
Rail passengers in the 19th century could be trusted to carry guns without incident (helped to deter train robbers, too).

Given that there’s no meaningful security screening to get on an Amtrak train right now (I just took a trip last weekend), there’s little to prevent anyone from concealed carry on the train. It might not be legal, but there’s really nothing to stop you from doing so.

“This isn’t something new,” he says. “Amtrak would be reverting to its pre-9/11 policies.”
Given that Khalid Sheik Mohammed will be on trial in New York City for his role in the 9/11 attack, in a civilian court, which in itself is so 9/10, this measure might just be useful for public safety, even though it would be reverting to a 9/10 policy.

Markie Marxist sez: “No one should be allowed to check guns onto trains because it makes private gun ownership seem normal. It’s just not common communist sense. Jane Fonda would not approve, and she’s a real good commie.”
