We’re the “only ones” . . . wait, what?
In CO:
The Colorado State University Board of Governors voted unanimously Tuesday to place students at both of its campuses in harm’s way with a sweeping weapons ban law-abiding citizens will obey and criminals will ignore.
Larimer County Sheriff James Alderden, outraged by the ban, told The Gazette’s opinion department he will undermine it in the interest of student safety.
[…]
“I have told the CSU police chief I will not support this in any way,” Sheriff Alderden told The Gazette. “If anyone with one of my permits gets arrested for concealed carry at CSU, I will refuse to book that person into my jail. Furthermore, I will show up at court and testify on that person’s behalf, and I will do whatever I can to discourage a conviction. I will not be a party to this very poor decision.”

Larimer County has been explaining other “Duh!” concepts to these Snowflakes for years:
http://www.co.larimer.co.us/planning/planning/code_of_the_west/index.htm
I read one humorous version years back that included such gems as these: “If you build your house where a creek used to be, sooner or later there will be creek where your house used to be.” and “Big rocks on slopes are more likely to respect gravity than your property line.”
Unfortunately, the net result of these efforts is that more of these Snowflakes survive to vote and breed.

WOW! More like this please!

Sounds like someone should buy the sheriff a beer.

Wow! Go Sheriff Alderden!
On the other hand, the anti-freedom folks on the CSU Board of Governors do have a point: there has been so much more violence at CSU now that guns are legal there.
Oh, wait…

Perhaps Sheriff Alderden can be convinced to run for higher office. It sounds like he’d make a fine Colorado Governor or Attny. General…
Then he could shepard through legislation mandating all public institutions of higher learning in the state must conform to state law.

Way to go Chief!

Can I trade in my Sheriff for a similar model?

Sent them(board of governors) an email. Subject line was “moral stance?”
the body:
Congratulations! Through your pro-active campaign to bar from campus firearms possession, even by those adult students licensed and investigated by the state and in compliance with state law, you have stated unequivocally that you will accept nothing less than the level of safety achieved at Virginia Tech University or Columbine High School or Crossroads Mall in Omaha, Ne.
It is not often we see a “moral stance” taken by an immoral Board of Governors. Again, congratulations on placing thousands at risk, now that predators know where to find declawed prey. Of course , you will stand liable for any and all harm to students, faculty and staff should they be harmed because you disallowed them the tools for self defense. Right? Right?
Naw, I didn’t really think you had that kind of moral fiber, just wanted to point the deficieny out to mothers of your students.
I would hope you would show this to entire board, but I have a feeling you will discard it, that’s why I’m putting it on the internet also.
Not so respectfully,
(signed with my real name)
