Coyotes in Texas
The governor kills a coyote messing with his dog. Looks like he carries a Ruger LCP with a Crimson Trace Laser.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

Gov. Perry is a staunch 2nd Amendment supporter. And in Texas, any coyote that doesn’t run off immediately on sighting a human might be rabid or otherwise abnormal. Shooting pet eaters is legal, as is the governor’s licensed concealed carry.
He will be re-elected governor. And despite the hair, which is a bit too John Edward-ish for me, I expect Perry to expose some presidential aspirations in the future.

But the bounty does go into the General Fund, right?

Just an LCP? I thought everything was bigger in Texas…

Sounds like he was out jogging, so the LCP may have been what he could comfortably fit into his jogging clothes.
I find WFAA’s choice of pictures to illustrate their story…interesting.

“had taken my weapon out and charged it.”
Gahhh Condition 3? BOOOOOO!
Oh wait, maybe he didn’t send his in for the safety recall ; ]

As I recall, Perry normally carries a .357 revolver (told to me by someone who saw him practicing with one at Red’s — with no bodyguard, nada). His LCP is his “jogging” gun — and when he jogs, he doesn’t have a bodyguard escort, either.
One of the many reasons he’s about to be elected for a third term (a first in Texas, for ANY governor).

Yeah, I found the photo included with the story weird, but hey, it’s probably a stock photo the Austin American-Red Star-Statesman uses for all Perry stories lately.
I wouldn’t have too much of a problem with voting for Perry for President of Texas. He’s been well-behaved over the last couple of years since that Trans-Texas Corridor and Gardasil thing went away.

Ah. WFAA (Belo Corporation) updated the comments since I saw the article last night.
Selectively moonbat-permeable again, I see. Not unexpected.

The sooner this man is POTUS the better off we’ll be.
I’ve heard of Gov.s hunting before but nothing like this.
