Quote of the Day
John Green, father of 9 year old Christina Green who was killed in Tucson:
This shouldn’t happen in this country, or anywhere else, but in a free society, we’re going to be subject to people like this. I prefer this to the alternative.

That is amazingly level-headed for a man that just lost his daughter. Bravo, sir.

Mr Green may indeed have more courage than I … I just hope I never have to find out.
Our prayers continue to go out to you and yours, John.

Our prayers and stuff to Mr. Green, he’s about to be pilloried by the MSM who prefer to dance in his daughter’s blood.

Let’s all pray for the Greens for their loss, and for their future welfare. They will no doubt be subjected to a media witch hunt for failing to adhere to the Left’s template of victimhood.

If he got on there and called for a gun ban, it would be understandable. Incredibly misguided and bad policy, unconstitutional, wrong, etc. But understandable. He lost his 9-year-old daughter not 48 hours before this remark. Anything would be understandable.
Instead he said perhaps the bravest utterance I have heard from anyone, ever. We are lucky such people exist to combat the evil in this world, including the evil done to him, his family and his beautiful daughter. God bless the Greens.

I’m declaring it with a large degree of comfort “Quote of the Year”, I doubt anybody will top that.

We attach about words like “courage” and “integrity” all too easily; the practice unfortunately dilutes their meaning when they are rightly applied to this man.
We need a new lexicon for someone who, in the depths of grief and in the face of unspeakable evil, can stand up to both and remain true to his principles.
People should stand when Mr. Green enters the room.
