And then, there was one
Well, not yet, but soon it looks like:
Wisconsin, one of two states in the nation that prohibits citizens from carrying a concealed weapon, is expected to reverse this law during the upcoming state legislative session despite shootings in Arizona that highlighted lax U.S. gun laws.
Only Illinois and Wisconsin forbid carrying concealed weapons. A Republican was elected governor and Republicans won majorities in both houses of the Wisconsin legislature in November, bringing many more supporters of gun rights to the state government.

Anything that will hold up Illinois as the paleo-liberal outlier that it is would be a good thing.

And cue the layers of editorial oversight:
While I’m sure that statement is entirely true, somehow I don’t think it was what they meant to say.

Jake- you know you’re not supposed to report the whole truth on gun issues… you’ll get disowned by the rest of the media. 😉
Thankfully Gov. Walker has stated that he’ll sign whatever legislation is placed on his desk (in regards to CCW,) so it’s just a matter of getting the right thing on that desk. The official state Republican party stance says nothing about permits, so that’s what lots of us are hoping for. Fingers crossed…

Hopefully they’ll push through Vermont carry. Then let’s hope they inform the police.
Then there was one.
Do I hear zero? Zero….

Illinois needs it worse than Wisconsin, where at least they have open carry, ironically enough. But hope they get it passed, just the same.

Don’t forget nj. While the state is technically a may issue , try getting one. There is a defaco ban on carry .

How are they expanding rights? They are returning them from the people that they were stolen from.

The Chicago Machine still controls the IL Legislature and Quinn remains Governor. I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

“…despite shootings in Arizona that highlighted lax U.S. gun laws.”
I’m confused. Does “Lax” mean ‘totally ineffective’ or ‘completely unnecessary’? Is it Latin or something? I know they aren’t suggesting that stricter laws would have made a difference, because that’s stupid. They aren’t imbeciles or something, are they?

Always liked WI. Only reason we wouldn’t move there so far is their current setup on guns. This would be a great change!
Taxes are another issue, but I’m in the urban center of MN now so everything is downhill from here.

Looks like they updated their article (without announcement) to remove the naked editorializing “despite shootings in Arizona that highlighted lax U.S. gun laws”

I would personally prefer a state that “lacks” gun laws.
