Pre-crime detector
Future Attribute Screening Technology (FAST), a US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programme designed to spot people who are intending to commit a terrorist act, has in the past few months completed its first round of field tests at an undisclosed location in the northeast, Nature has learned.

So what, they know it works because it hasn’t detected any terrorists when there haven’t been any attacks? Or because none of the people they dragged away were on the planes to commit their terrorism? Er… Maybe they’re planning to let some through so they can say “see, it does too work, he was a terrorist!” This thing should be as easy to beat as a polygraph.

This thing is such a joke… Only a 70 percent accuracy on test subjects who were instructed whether to lie or not…. Not very good… Picture the inaccuracy in the real world… I bet there is a rather large amount of cognitive aggression when it comes to getting molested by the tsa or run through an unlicensed x-ray machine. I could understand the irritation.

I predict a lot of false-positive hits on auties and aspies.

Hmmm, the article is no longer there. D’ya think maybe Nature was getting buried in disapproving comments…?

Let me guess, it seeks out 80 year old grandmas and 3 year old infants in diapers.
And lets ragheads pass by unnoticed.
