New From Sig
FastBack Nightmare:
This innovation is continued with the new Fastback series of 1911s. SIG SAUER engineers have redesigned the frame and mainspring housing to create a proprietary rounded backstrap, giving the Fastback a distinct look and advantage for concealed carry.
I dunno, gun nerds don’t like proprietary stuff.

“proprietary rounded backstrap”
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t that Swiss for “bobtail”?

You mean like PARA with their proprietary Extractor and their proprietary LDA trigger? All kidding aside, if its not a 1911, its proprietary. Unless there’s some glock/xd/m&p parts interchange I’m not aware of. Its a nice job of minutely altering somebody else’s modification to claim credit, though. Actually, I do kind of want a para lda 4″ bobtail, in 9mm. I’m wrong like that.

IllTempered nailed it.
Someone at Sig: “Hey, why don’t we round off a bobtail frame/MSH, and call it new!”
Everyone else: “Brilliant!”

Bobbed 1911 clone… once again, I’ll stick with the real deal… 🙂

No, it’s Swiss for “too bad you won’t be able to use established bobtail MSH’s.” 😉

Just another C-Bob. I have the origional Dan Wesson one made when DW as owned by DW!
Don’t need another C-Bob. Innovative?

Reality check: Kimber and S&W also offer models with a round butt mainspring housing. Who do you think makes more M1911 pistols: Ed Brown or Kimber/S&W/SIG-Sauer? I suspect that the latter format will become the defacto industry standard.

I carry a Kimber TLE, the standard butt digs into my skin. I want a rounded butt! LOL!!

I don’t want a bobtail model because I prefer a higher capacity gun for concealed carry. But I do think the Sig 1911s are some of the best in that price class. The external extractor is less finicky. My only complaint is I don’t like ambi safeties. I’m leaning towards their new Molon Labe model. Love that finish.

I would rather see a Modernized Sig 210 in .45 or 10mm.

WOW a matte black 1911 with stainless parts how 1998! Not saying in looks bad it just cracks me up that its being touted as new and innovative.
