It occurs to me
That, at some point, Piers Morgan will run out of people who will kick his ass in the gun debate. Maybe that’s his plan, to eventually find someone dumber than him:

“former presidential candidate” Yeah, try “leader of the coup that swept the House after the 1994 AWB”

I think it is time for gun owners to start telling the banners to, “your arguments are hysterical, illogical and un-factual. Shut up and sit down.”

Can’t say that the people PM interviews are firearms and/or self defense experts. If they were experts, they could bring up the point the point that the reason so many people choose the AR-15 for defense is because pistol caliber SBRs like MP5 or USP are not available and the AR is the next best choice.
A suppressed SBR would make the best PDW, IMHO.

For some reason, every time I see Piers Morgan I keep flashing back to Tom Selleck’s great line in “Quigley Down Under:”
“We already ran the misfits out of our country. Sent ’em back to England.”
It’s a crying shame that England has made it clear they don’t want Morgan back…

I think Piers is desperate for ratings, and someone at CNN has discovered that people will actually tune into his show to watch him get his ass kicked.

“I think Piers is desperate for ratings, and someone at CNN has discovered that people will actually tune into his show to watch him get his ass kicked.”
That’s the only reason I’d ever tune in CNN.

Yep even Gingrich who knows about as much about guns and gun laws as Morgan does seems to make handy work of him.
Peirs is picking interviews from the Pro-Gun Farm league in hopes of getting somewhere.
January 26th, 2013 at 9:09 am
I keep waiting for a real pro-gun debater to show up and turn Morgan’s ass into shredded wheat.
One thing that’s missing is for one of his targets to respond “Mr.Morgan, are you so afraid of what I have to say that you feel you have to talk over me and shout me down to prevent me saying it? Are you so fearful of your audience hearing both sides and making up their own minds that you have to continually interrupt me to prevent it?”
Dewight (above) has a point. It’s past time for us to call them on it: “Gun control has nothing to do with guns and everything to do with control; nothing your side has ever proposed on guns has ever increased individual or public safety, so either be truthful with the American people that you want to take their guns away because you fear Americans having that power, or shut up. We’re not tolerating your lies anymore.”
Go on the f***ing offensive – politely – and stop apologizing for being on the right side.

So Piers is the English’s way of revenge for Obama sending the bust of Churchill back? Well played.

@Alien – Watch Ben Shapiro’s interview, he torn organ a new one. I wish he would speak more on the 2ndA, he’s good.

This is not even a debate or interview. Morgan asks a question and then as soon as Gingrich begins to answer, he interrupts him and talks over him. Piers Morgan can’t stand to let people talk.

“This is not even a debate or interview. Morgan asks a question and then as soon as Gingrich begins to answer, he interrupts him and talks over him. Piers Morgan can’t stand to let people talk.”
More to the point, he only does that when it becomes obvious that the answer/comment about to be uttered is NOT something that will support Piers’ narrative.

Jeremy Clarkson posted on facebook: “Dear America-we spent 40 years trying to get rid of Piers Morgan. We don’t want him back”

Few people are as good at directly countering the Media as Newt. He is wise to all their tricks and games. It’s why I think many people underestimated just how good a candidate he could have been for the Republicans in the 2012 presidential contest.
The strongest enemy of conservatism and the Republican party is not the Democratic Party, it is instead the Hollywood/New York infotainment-media complex.

Piers keeps saying AR-15’s and others like it belong on the battlefield, SO would he agree that any AWB should also apply to EVERYONE NOT ON A BATTLEFIELD…which would include all our government officials and their hired guns? Piers, that would be in accordance with “the equal protection of the laws” in the 14th Amendment, one of two which ended slavery. I know Piers is British and such is probably not tolerated in their country with royalty and subjects, but, hey, Piers, what about making everyone here equal with thier guns!!!???

“…to eventually find someone dumber than him.”
Maybe he should have Dianne Fienstein or Barbara Boxer on if that’s the case.

Call me an ignorant foreigner but I was under the impression Yanks COULD own full automatics depending on a) the specific state in which they lived (e.g. Nevada, Ohio, Utah) and they had paid the $200 transfer tax to the US treasury?

Morgan is British.
Our ancestors left Britain and beat his so we could live under a Constitution that was the antithesis of prevailing British law.
Of course he is a collectivist who expects to be taken care of and protected by government, not someone who resists government intervention in his life as he tries to pursue a lifestyle of freedom and self-sufficiency.
He is one of the principle beneficiaries of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
His ratings have been deplorable for years and he was awaiting the inexorable transition from CNN primetime personality to media roadkill, to join the pantheon of Campbell Brown and other journalists who went to CNN to prematurely end their careers.
January 26th, 2013 at 11:23 pm
I can’t think of anything that could possibly end Morgans’ career prematurely. The words that come to mind are “long overdue”.

Norm, it’s a bit more complicated then that. Also the registry is limited to machine guns manufactured before 1986. They made it illegal to register any after that point, so as with anything with a limited supply and high demand, prices have skyrocketed.
Just a simple full auto AK-47 costs over $5,000.00 right now, while a brand new one in canada from marstars ca is only $895.00.
January 27th, 2013 at 4:08 am
Norm
For enough money nothing in the United States is really banned. But there is a defacto ban on automatic weapons. So many conditions need to be met to possess a fully automatic firearm that for all practical purposes for the vast majority of Americans that automatic weapons are as good as banned.
January 28th, 2013 at 10:33 am
I disagree w/ Newt on why full auto is “banned”. The Miller decision was the exact opposite of what the “sporting purpose” crowd is claiming. Full auto is heavily regulated under the pretense of being a tax measure. Some go as far as to say it was a government employment measure to keep the “revenuers” on the government payroll after prohibition was repealed.
The perception of danger caused by the full-automatic weapons largely disappeared when beer distributors no longer had to shoot it out with the competition.

Steve — where can you get a $5K AK? Hell, STEN GUNS are going for $4-5K last I checked!
January 28th, 2013 at 4:35 pm
I want to see a picture, “Demotivator” style, of Piers Morgan’s face on Baghdad Bob’s body while Hitler’s troops load Jews onto cattle cars in the background. Pier’s would be saying “You think you may need to defend yourself from a tyrannical government? Absuhd! People aren’t stupid.”
