Overheard at the gun show
Dad: I expected to see the prices here through the roof with that high school shooting in Washington. That went away real quick and haven’t heard more about it or pushes for gun control laws.
Me: It’s an election year.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

More to the point, the shooter was a minority, maybe a DOUBLE minority ( native + ?), and targeted his tribal extended family.

Low body count too. It doesn’t even technically qualify as a “mass shooting”.

All of the above.
Even in WA where there’s a background check law on the ballot, I haven’t heard tell of it being pushed.
(My suspicion being that the gun in question was stolen or otherwise irrelevant to the stupid law being pushed, though I haven’t been following the details.)
Anything not helpful to the narrative is ignored.

I heard the perp had his father’s Beretta .40 cal which apparently was acquired legally with background check, but I’m sure it must have been stolen or else the father would’ve been criminally culpable for allowing his son to carry a gun to yet another gun-free zone. I guess he missed the “no guns” signs. But yes, election time is here, so no emotional appeals for laws against the people that weren’t responsible were pushed by mass media.

My understanding is that Dad was a LEO of some kind… you know, the only ones who can be trusted with guns.

Well if the perp’s dad was an LEO, then that helps explain why this wasn’t in the news for days to help promote more gun (citizen disarmament) laws.
