FDIC Reverses Course on ‘Operation Choke Point’:

In a major development concerning NSSF’s leadership to halt discrimination in the provision of financial services and products to firearms related businesses due to “Operation Choke Point,” the top officials of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) on Wednesday admitted wrongdoing and said they would cease practices that had the effect of encouraging such disparate treatment

They gonna let up on the pr0n and everyone else, or is it just the firearms? That whole “operation” is just reprehensible, and another reason Dick Holder and the Bamster should be provided with a new orange wardrobe.

  2. Patrick Says:

I think they were/are afraid of discovery under court order. Better to just make it all go away.

“Discovery, your honor? Why…we agree with the plaintiffs and have fixed the problems already.”

    Commence the shredding at DoJ/FDIC…

Keeping up with these jokers is like guarding a herd of gerbils…and once again, no scofflaws will be punished. If I didn’t know better, I would think they believe they are above the law.

  4. IllTemperedCur Says:

They got the point across to the banks already. They don’t need to issue any further threats. A fair number of those banks are still going to discriminate against legal but unapproved businesses, out of fear that the program will start up again after the heat dies down.

Someone needs to launch a lawsuit. That is a clear violation of the due process clause.

    – they are. The reason the state got involved in law enforcement, in the common-law system around the 1600’s, iirc, was in part so the king could keep his men from getting into trouble. Before that time, the law wasn’t state-enforced, but was enforced by regular people.

Much like F&F and the IRS Tea Party targeting, a lawsuit isn’t enough. The only way that they will stop this stuff is if a few of them over privileged bureaucrats spend a little time in the clink.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
