Years ago, I think ’97, back when Scout troops could get tours of the FBI building (not sure if they ever re-started those after 9/11), we took one after the National Jamboree. It was an interesting tour, and at one point they took us past a room that had a decent sized chunk of this collection in it–maybe a 50 foot long wall jam-packed with some of these guns. It was the most impressive thing I’d seen up til then–was drooling and wishing I could shoot a few.

Our Scout troop went in the mide-80’s and I remember seeing an M-60, an M-79 and and a 20 gauge cane gun you used to be able to get from the Sears catalog.

Years ago(shortly after the first Gulf War) the wife and I got a chance to go behind the doors of the old Aberdeen museum. (we got to tag along behind a group of “interesting” short-haired, bandaged-up young men.) Talk about a collection… Drawers and racks full of everything from Brown Bess muskets to the latest in military hardware.

Always wondered what happened to that collection when they closed the place.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
