Only police should have guns
Police doing their job. Friendly dog runs out and does friendly dog stuff. Cop shoots at friendly dog at “point blank range” and misses. Seriously, he should be fired for multiple reasons. And we don’t know the officers name because “journalism”.

“Nobody was hurt by the dog or the gun”
Such passive voice. Much bias.

Officer needs to be home on unpaid leave while his Admin decides what his new role with the department will be. Yeah I know, not even remotely likely.

This is what happens when you allow the state to run the justice system. It invariably exempts its own enforcers.

Only one shot!!!!! I’m surprised he didn’t empty his gun at the dog. Equally surprised he didn’t hit a couple of innocent bystanders. If he had hit another cop they all would have started shooting. I shot next to cops at a local range when I lived in NYC. All thought they were experts. None could shoot worth a damn.

Right, Doc. Taking their cues from higher ups who EXEMPT THEMSELVES in legislation, especially citizen disarming gun laws!!!

Many decades ago while responding to a disturbance call I was bitten by a house pet type dog that weighed about 50 pounds. No I did not shoot it because it was only doing its “duty” by protecting the owner’s home against strangers. But the owner was arrested and booked for other offenses. I may have but did not get the opportunity since I was a little busy trying to stop the bleeding. While another officer handled the booking I went to the hospital for quite a few stitches. Don’t recall how many because of time but I still carry the scars. In that job you never know what or when “it” will happen.

R.C., everything you said is true, but irrelevant to everything that happened in that vid.

Keep your pet leashed. An idiot who shouldn’t have a badge might shoot it.

@Kristophr the dog was inside and a cop forced the door open.

The dog was wagging it’s tail. How vicious is that?

DocMerlin: What is it with bad cops and dogs?
Maybe someone should bring a robotic dummy dog to a protest … just don’t stand near it.
