What due process?
In NJ, a court rules that a man who was accused of domestic violence can be denied a gun permit. He was never convicted. Just accused.

“Good conduct” denial – while most places it won’t stop purchase, there’s more than a few places left where they can still deny you a carry permit over it.
It sucks. (And may also be against previous NJ precedent – a memory of a previous case is tickling my mind)

it will not matter how popular Chris Christie can make himself in this Prez primary season. they’ll still have to introduce him as the Governor of a State that does s#17 like this.

Governor Christie is not a viable presidential prospect. Nor should he be – he’s way too lawn order and governmental power tempered by executive discretion.

Hard to wrap your head around that case without acknowledging how incredibly bizarre it is.

Hmm. Guess I’ll have to accuse a lot of NJ government folks next time I’m up there. Apparently due process doesn’t apply there, so they won’t care if I’m really making it up.
