Sounds like he had a squib. Also his claim of wolf being underpowered largely has to do with extraction issues. But steel-cased wolf is going to be more difficult to extract even if it isn’t underpowered because of the extraction mechanics of steel cases.

My crudely made Soviet weapon, it is widely understood, will function very well, digesting tens of thousands of rounds of Wolf ammo without incident whereas my better American weapon made from superior materials to superior standards with greater safety margins will jam, wear out early, blow up.
