45ACP= For people who put stock in the hope of the one shot stop.
9mm= For people who understand that it usually take multiple rounds, from a handgun, to put someone down.
Given the hilarity of the caliber wars, where’s the meme where the target on the right comes back and kicks the crap out of you for shooting it with a girls cartridge?
Many years ago my buddy Bill and I were shooting at an old 2 gallon jug filled with sand. Aim point was an orange sticker. He was using a High Power and placed 3 rounds in the sticker.
“See how well it groups?” Bill asked.
I fired one round my Sig P220 and knocked the jug flat.
“With a .45 you don’t need groups.”
Ya, the caliber wars never end. But it’s fun.
“9mm= For people who understand that it usually take multiple rounds, from a handgun, to put someone down.”
That’s because with the Europellet, you DO need multiple rounds to put a attacker down. Why do you think that all pistols chambered for 9MM have double stack high capacity mags?
However, pistols in .45ACP have single stack low capacity mags. That sez it all! 🙂
I agree with you Stretch, the caliber wars can be a lotta fun.
Considering many of the top IPSC/IDPA/NRA Action/etc. shoot .45s with groups a 9mm only could hope it could make I’m not impressed.
Sure many people cannot handle a powerful round, but many can.
For self defense pick the most powerful gun/cartridge you can shoot well. If all you can shoot well is a .22, use it. If you can handle a .454 well (and THAT is tough), use it!
But this 9mm is ‘the thing’ is bull. Only a idiot would believe it is.

Pew! Pew!

My feeling is that anything that puts holes in a attacker’s anatomy is good for the job.
My preference on handgun calibers however, is .38 Special in a revolver and .45ACP in a automatic.

Yeah, I was able to shoot a better group than the one on the left from a 1911 the first time I fired it. I’m no .45 guy, either.

LOL, it never ends…

Personally I get closer groups with the 45. Considering the bullets are bigger…:)

This guy be like:
Get the holes as close together as possible, be they .45, .22LR, or anything in between.
And yeah, I’ve done better groupings than the 9mm photo with a .45.

Because people shoot fat gripped double-column DA 9mm pistols so much better than single column SA .45 pistols!
Yeah, caliber wars are silly.
