Obama’s unilateral new gun laws

We don’t need a law or anything, just executive fiat. Some details on Obama’s executive gun control. Looking over the list, some highlights:

You may be a firearms dealer and not know it. And you will have to get a license.

Background checks for people in trusts buying NFA weapons. Likely eliminates bypassing CLEO sign off, but that’s not how it’s worded.

Unfunded mandate to the states regarding NICS reporting.

Dealers to report theft of guns.

If you get social security due to mental issues, that’s part of the NICS.

Reporting by states of those with mental health issues. How that squares with HIPAA, beats me.

Blah blah blah about smart guns.

Apparently, this administration doesn’t even know what current laws are. I’m not impressed.

And he (and his legal ‘advisors’) apparently doesn’t know what CURRENT gun laws are not being enforced. Shoot (pun intended), even joebiden figured that out.

“Apparently, this administration doesn’t even know what current laws are. I’m not impressed.”

The O-Racist administration hasn’t done anything to be impressed with. Anything GOOD that is.

  3. Ben C Says:

Initial reports of the 41P ATF rule released today look like the CLEO signoff has been replaced by a CLEO notification for all transferees. Anti-gun cop can’t say no anymore, but now all transferees (including trust’s trustees and corporate officers and employees that handle firearms) need to have photo and finger prints.

Not the worst outcome, but not great either.

  4. Mr Evilwrench Says:

Why trouble yourself to know what the current laws are when you don’t care what they are? I’m sure the French have a word for that, it’s like they have a different word for everything!

  5. Jim W Says:

So are licenses going down to an affordable (early 90s) price again?

If anyone can be a dealer, even one that doesn’t have a traditional store, does that mean that they are waiving the zoning requirements and the whole “you must have a separate area of your house with regular business hours” requirement?

If dealers now includes people that can sell over the internet, does that mean they are waiving the requirement for face to face transfers?

I see no effort to prosecute those NICS-prohibited persons (i.e., felons) who try to buy firearms. You know, it might reduce crime if one were to punish actual criminals who try, illegally, to obtain firearms. As Vice President Biden said, “Ain’t nobody got time for that.”

The continued effort to demonize legal gun ownership, however, is impressive in its breadth.

  7. Ron W Says:

How can any of this be prosecuted without being law?

  8. Chas Says:

I don’t have much sympathy for people who play crazy to get government money, and if they really are crazy . . . but I am concerned that someone merely having a designated individual to handle their Social Security account for them will get them NICSed out of their RKBA.

  9. Chas Says:

HIPAA is a fraud. It claims to be about privacy for your electronic medical records, but it has a back door that lets in the last people you want looking at your medical records, the government. Signed into law by Bill Clinton himself. Sorry if you get raped by it.

  10. Chas Says:

All in all, the emperor’s new clothes, or proclamations, are as limp-wristed and ineffectual as the tearful POTUS-boy himself, who learned everything he knows about guns in Chicago bath houses. It is way past bedtime for Obongo.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
