I’d say so

Topping fears among Americans, the government.

Guns, not so much.

Well, once you take the time to actually learn how to safely operate and handle a firearm, there isn’t a whole lot to be afraid of. It’s like any other tool. It has a purpose, and mishandled or misused it could be fatal, so don’t mishandle it and don’t misuse it. Thanks to Dear Reader, more and more Americans are buying guns, and reducing the number of people who know nothing about them. President Momjeans keeps this up, pretty soon the only people who won’t know anything about guns will be journalists, politicians and the Mad Mommies demanding something.

Government, on the other hand, no matter how much you know, and no matter how much you restrain the beast, will eventually outgrow or escape whatever pen you keep it in. And like all wild beasts, you should be wary of it. No amount of education or understanding of it will protect you if it gets loose.

Again, polls are useless without context. The footnote on the Gallup poll reads “Government includes dissatisfaction with President Obama, Congress, other government leaders, ethics of politicians, and political conflict.”

So Democrats are pissed with a Republican majority in Congress. Republicans are pissed with Obama. And Libertarians are pissed with the growth of government. Moderate independents are pissed with the the fighting and conflicts between the major parties…

Overall dissatisfaction is different than fear, and not all that uncommon.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
