We’ve been bending, and bending and bending, for generations. We’ve tolerated far too much, in fact. Eliminate all gun restrictions, licensing and special taxes forever, guaranteed (like the second amendment says)and they’d still owe us a huge debt.
It’s time for the antis to get bent.

Compromise means both sides give. There are estimated to be ~20,000 gun control laws on the books already.

Right HL, the gun control side is the paranoid reactionary side. Even the Federal givernment’s own data shows that violent crime has been on 20 year decline coinciding with more liberalized gun laws in most States with more law abiding citizens owning and exercising their ” right to bear (carry) arms” . The high privilege mass murders with guns have increased coinciding with the Federal Gun Free Schools law of 1990. So the obvious compromise would be to end the Federal imposition of gun free zones EXCEPTING only those where armed security is provided in exchange for making background checks more inclusive for demontranly mentally ill people. But the gun control authoritarian politicians are unwilling, choosing to keep for themselves what they deny to others.

A liberal’s interpretation of “compromise” on the gun issue is that as long as someone somewhere in some jurisdiction is allowed to own some sort of limited single shot firearm locked up in their home then all other gun laws are reasonable compromise.
