The IRS at work
91% Of Taxpayers Whose Bank Accounts Were Seized By The IRS Had Acquired The Cash Legally
100,000 Taxpayers Compromised In Hack Of FAFSA Tool At IRS
The IRS is right behind ATF in the list of .gov agencies I would abolish.

Absolutely! I couldn’t agree more! I’ve heard and read that originally the income tax was voluntary. If so, that makes Constitutional sense, because mandating a tax which requires ones personal information violates the 4th and 5th Amendments.

Actually, I’d put IRS on the chopping block WAY ahead of BATFE. As much as I dislike the BATFE, I dislike the IRS more.
The other reason to keep the BATFE around is that under the current statutory status quo, they are better than the likely alternative: I would much rather have the underfunded, under-sized, corrupt, and easy to attack ATF regulating guns than their likely successor, the FBI.
The FBI doesn’t have the funding/staffing problems that BATFE does (they’d be able to inspect/harrass FAR more dealers), and they have a much less tainted public image: Just about everyone hates the BATFE and knows that they tend to fuck up big time, and the same is just not true of the FBI.
If you want to set things up for a quick reduction in the number of FFLs in the country the next time a democrat wins the white house, then the best way to do it is to get rid of the BATFE without getting rid of ALL the gun laws that they enforce.
