@Jimbo, that should suffice to dissuade most mobs after one, two maybe another one or two go down. I read something a while back re: Serbia/Bosnia where mobs were dealt with by using .22 lr rifles with homemade silencers to kneecap them. It wasn’t enough to bring out LEO’s or military , but enough to stop mob members and then they were marked with stiff legged limps.
@Jay, yes and some were supplied with rifles courtesy of the NRA, especially in areas where their RKBA was restricted or denied. Government officials who want gun control are always pro-tyranny and pro-slavery.
The old saying used to be “One riot, one Ranger,” here in Texas. The idea behind the saying was that targeting of individual leaders of a mob was the most efficient way of making a mob into just a bunch of people who each want to be elsewhere. How one picks the leaders of a mob isn’t always clear, though under the duress of the moment I’d suggest giving it a good try.
Target George Soros and his “network of associations” and you’ve quelled most mobs in the U.S. of late. Far from being at the back of the crowd urging on those in front of him, he’s skulking in a protected mansion issuing orders to write checks.
For on-the-scene defense, I sort of like the suppressed 22LR idea. Then again, some real muzzle blast can have a positive effect on attitudes, especially it has a definite cyclic rate.
Lyle,
I’d prefer a G18 for mob response. Fits in a regular holster, and has that “mob dispersal switch” on the side of the slide. Shoulder rig is preferred, so you can hang a handful of those extended mags on the offside.

Autoloading shotgun? SMG in whatever caliber? Whatever’s handy at the moment?
I figure you pick off one or two, the others’ll change their attitudes right quick.

Black Americans used guns to stave off lynch mobs too.

Volume of fire is key. I’d submit this situation would be ideal for the much-hated 9mm carbine.

mikee, look for the democrat with the bullhorn or a CNN Camera.
In the absence of that, listen to the mouthiest.
