Chain reaction: ban no-knock and by the same reasoning, the Best Evidence Rule goes away too. Best Evidence has saved a lot of folks from jail when cops and prosecutors try to sneak weak cases by.
The OKC Holtzclaw case is about to be overturned on Best Evidence, and in the overturning, will show huge prosecutorial malfeasance and cover up of weak evidence.
Be careful what you wish for.

I disagree. No knock raids should be banned, end of story. If there is a threat to life then exigent circumstances don’t require a warrant at all. If there is time to get a warrant there is time to knock.

Agreed Mike. The Best Evidence Rule doesn’t go away without no-knock anyway. And even if its reduced, we should have other ways of dealing with weak evidence.
No-knock raids have destroyed more lives, property, and liberty and can ever be outweighed by the Best Evidence Rule.

“Imminent Threat To Life” can always be totally redefined, same as any part of the second amendment for example. Same as the United States herself has been redefined (Fundamentally Transformed) from a promise of liberty to the promise that government will take care of everything.
Therefore, since Global Warming, or Climate Change, or whatever they’re calling this week, is an “Imminent Threat to Life” we can no-knock raid every home and business in America ’till the cows come home, looking for “Violations of Environmental Sentiment” or what have you. There’s no limit.
When will we learn that rights and property are protected by force only, and that words on paper, such as the Bill of Rights, et al, only serve to explain said force in advance?
As soon as the pirates find out that we don’t really mean it, that we’re stupid enough to rely on words without force, they’ll overrun everything. That is currently happening, on several fronts, to the entire Western World.

Just as a bully eventually picks on the wrong person, and a street robber eventually attempts to rob the wrong person, no knock raiders will eventually bust down a few wrong doors at a few wrong addresses and that will slow down this unconstitutional and unlawful action.
Once upon a time, in small southern town, a lynch mob with rope in hand, was attempting to remove an alleged thief awaiting trail from the jail.
The sheriff stepped out the front door of the jail holding a double barrel shotgun. One of the men in the lynch mob told the sheriff, “You can’t stop us all sheriff”. To which, sheriff replied, “No, I can”t, but I can stop the first two, which two of you are first”.

Au contraire. Every citizen fighting back just makes the raiders turn it up to “eleven” on the next raidee.

Thanks for the feed back. Objectively, I agree.
Just getting frustrated at the loss of rights of individuals in the sanctuary of their own homes.
The accounts I have read about seem to indicate the “no knockers” are already at “eleven”.
