As if “ties to the powerful gun-rights group” would constitute some kind of indictment?
Hah, but we all remember Lurch, what’s his name…swift boater…John Kerry, dressing up in a Fudd costume, walking into a sporting goods store with his camera crew and saying, “Kin awh git mee uh huntin’ law-sins heeer?”
The difference is that when a Dem does it everyone knows he’s full of shit, that it’s just play-acting to sucker the Fudds. When a Republican does it, you never know what to think, except that he’s most likely full of shit too, and will fuck you over at the first sign of difficulty. He’ll think of his betrayal as good politics, and expect you do see it likewise and then thank him for it.

I assume they’ll find the same relationship he had with everyone else that helped him get where or what he wanted. Once his objective was achieved, he promptly fucked them over.
