Cop Killers
Apparently, they’re more than your average thug. They train and are accustomed to being shot at. Frightening. Anyway, here’s some info the FBI compiled on cop killers.

Funny, that’s how I think of cops.

While reading it I’m thinking: Most of the perps are gangsters, most gang activity is centered around drugs, and profits in illegal drugs are only possible because of prohibition. We built the problem and we’re not showing any sign of un-building it.
Next I think: Gotta get more practice even though I already get more than most of those perps.
Last, from the comments: “Going to the bullet trap”? Seriously? Most indoor ranges are OK when you have absolutely no alternative, but your shooting activities are strictly limited and the environment is tunnel-visioned. More and varied environments and scenarios are worthwhile. When out shooting with friends, we like to invent contests, based on scenarios.

I can hear the lemmings now, “but Lyle if you legalize everyone will do it.”
Riiiiiiiiiiiiight. The reason I don’t use substances that shrink your genitals, ruin your health, cause you to lose everything you own and sleep under highway overpasses, and generally make you completely intolerable to normal folks is because I can get several hours in jail for doing so.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. {rolls eyes again}
The plain reality is that if you’re dumb enough to consume heroin and crack, it’s your own fucking fault. It shouldn’t be the nanny state’s job to remind you that we’ve known for centuries that these substances turn you in what can only be described as a waste of space that requires immediate, serious medical help (or euthanasia).
Even if you don’t buy that, and you really think lack of prohibition will increase addiction rates…you can fix addiction. It’s well known that treatment is cheaper than enforcement. You can’t fix dead. Drug use has its problems and pitfalls, but they’re problems that can be addressed. It’s drug TRAFFICKING that results in bodies dropping and urban blight.

What would happen if the Federal Government became the distributor of all recreational drugs except alcohol, and gave them away free and in unlimited quantity to all users ?
