Take out the hoplophobia and the absurdly tangential nonsense about the NRA, and she kind of has a point:
[T]here appears to be far greater leniency with respect to the carrying, and use, of weapons by members of law enforcement in this country than is desirable.
I don’t disagree there. Remember, “just like you and me, only better.”
[W]e, as a society, can no more afford complacency, and apathy, when it comes to the actions of those we entrust with enforcing our laws than with those we elect to higher office.
Again, I’m with you. (Aside: am I the only one annoyed by “We, as a society…?” I hate that phrase.)
[T]here have been way too many images, on the news, lately of policemen holding down an agitated, and anguished 45 year old woman at a Phoenix airport,.as well as rounding up members of Code Pink at a recent Lieberman/ McCain rally, and tasering an overzealous undergraduate at a Florida university for refusing to succumb to campus police after making controversial comments about impeaching the president.
Oh, I know: those were lawful orders given by the police, and the victims perps should have just knuckled under. Sorry, I’m with the left-wing nutcase on this one, too.
We have become far too accepting of fatal shootings by on-duty police officers….
Amen, sister.
Of course, pretty much the rest of her essay was pure bollocks.
I was going to leave a comment on her blog, but could feel “Big Bother’s” eyes starting a hole though me after page 57 of the registration process. Geesh! I felt like I was applying for a secret service position.
Have y’all read the other “articles” (bullshit would be more like it) written by
Jayne Lyn Stahl? Her most recient is just the most hateful and ignorant of a looooong list.
After looking at most of the other BS on the site it dont surprise me in the least that Jayne’s drivil was posted there.

She got her facts “direct from the AP”. I guess we should all bow down in subservience then.

I could only get through two or three paragraphs. They lost me at “… access to firearms by police is to lenient?” or somesuch.
Sheesh!

I like how, after two comments, the third one is from the writer who is “disgusted” with the comments in her entry.
Standard Reasoned Discourse model in action.

There’s a very simple reason I never comment on articles like this: my temper.
When someone says things that stupid, I find it almost impossible to reply without vitriol…and I listen to stupid lies for a living.

She does seem to be somewhat reality-impaired, doesn’t she?

It isn’t hard to figure out where the hissy fit comes from, actually. She doesn’t have comments on her regular blog, and probably didn’t realize that they had them there.

Well, I suppose we could start denying new machine guns to police forces…

At the point where she said England has less crime, I stopped reading.
It’s not stupid gathered in one place, it’s horseshit.

I was laughing at that dimwit when she suggested that posters should RESEARCH before posting when it’s obvious that she didnt. Eh, whatta maroon!
