After Super Tuesday
It’s Glad It’s Over Wednesday.
So, McCain is the big winner. Huckabee hit some momentum. And Mitt is toast. Mitt being toast is a good thing. Like Bitter, I was definitely anti-Mitt. The God Squad came out and represented Huckabee. God is apparently telling Tennessee how he feels about that. Ron Paul came in second once more.
The Democrats are reportedly in a tie. I noticed that in TN about 600K Dems turned out to vote compared to 500K Republicans. I think now that a good chunk of red states are out of the way, Obama will soon pull ahead.
I’m sticking with my beer bet. And I’ve decided that Obama looks more like a funeral director. So, I’m calling it for McCain in ’08.

It’s true that Obama looks more like a funeral director (although marginally, I’d argue). But he’s also substantially taller than McCain (6’1.5″ vs. 5’7″). The “funeral director” rule trumped the “taller” rule in 2000 (Al Gore is 6’1″, Bush is 5’11”) and 2004 (Kerry’s 6’4″), but the “taller” rule won out in 1988 (Bush Sr. definitely looked more like a funeral director than Dukakis, but was 6’2″ against Dukakis’ 5’8″) and 1980 (again, Reagan looked more like a funeral director than Carter, but Reagan was 6’1″ compared to Carter’s 5’9″).
If you look closely, you’ll notice that McCain is shorter than Dukakis. That could swing the height-vs.-funeral-director trend back the other way. McCain would even be shorter than Hillary Clinton, who’s 5’8″.

Speaking of toast, just saw this earlier today.

Obama looks like a funeral director. McCain looks like the guest of honor.
We, OTOH, look like we’re screwed.

Yay! If McCain wins, we’ll get expanded abortion rights, no forceful interrogation for enemy combatants, amnesty for all illegal aliens, higher taxes, federal attention for global warming, and…
Gosh, I’m glad Obama’s not going to win. Imagine what would happen.
