Zombies
Ya know, if you want to get a lot of people all riled up on the Internet, then advocate methods of zombie killing that they don’t approve of. I guess, also, if you’re gonna be killing zombies, it helps to do it to music. So, what songs are good for zombie killing? My choices would be:
Hatebreed – Destroy Everything – Duh, if that don’t make you want to kill zombies, nothing will.
Droid – Fueled by Hate – Ditto
Billy Joel – Piano Man – Because that song just pisses me off.

1812 overture.
“fuel” by Metallica if using flames.
Something tells me Mars Volta would be good…

Enya’s entire Paint the Sky with Stars album. I used to listen to it while playing Quake. The soothing music kept me calm during the heat of battle.
Would also recommend Ludwig Van… ala Clockwork Orange.

Drowning Pool – “Let the Bodies Hit the Floor”.

Oh, Ravenwood, good choice. Nothing like the Ninth Symphony for a little of the ol’ ultraviolence.
I’ve posted my choices on my blog. Summary:
Ich Will by Rammstein
Liquid Separation by Front Line Assembly
Doctor Online by Zeromancer
Clearly, I’ve gone the “push them and piss them off” route.

Led Zepplin’s “No Quarter.” Melancholy undertone to remind you they were once human.

Angel of Death by Slayer
Decadence by Disturbed

Sabbath Bloddy Sabbath by Ozzy if fighting on a Sunday, otherwise War Pigs.

Angels calling – sabaton
King of the kill – annihilator

“Domination” by Biohazard
“Left Behind” Slipknot
“Heretic Anthem” Slipknot

Zombies really hate ABBA. I don’t know why but they do. It must be hard to dance to.

Iron Maiden – Run To The Hills, The Trooper, Number of the Beast
Judas Priest – Hell bent for Leather, The Ripper
Megadeath – Peace Sells
April 10th, 2008 at 1:29 pm
Die Valkyrie – Richard Vagner. You could, for fun, do the ‘What’s Opera Doc?’ version, substituting ‘zombie’ for ‘wabbit’
Flamethrower – J. Geils Band, when appropriate.
Certain passages from Verdi’s ‘Nabucco’ would do well.

Well John at the bar is a friend of mine,
He gets me my drinks for free.
And he’s quick with a joke,
Or to light up your smoke,
But there’s some place that he’d rather be.
Today’s annoying earworm has been brought to you today by Ambulance Driver.
You’re welcome.

Okay, let’s say:
Tool – “Bottom”
Soundgarden – “Drawing Flies”
Only if killing zombies with a firearms, though. Anything else would require a sort of military cadence theme music, like from the movie “Aliens.”

I think the polka tune from the Lawrence Welk Show would do quite well to whip me into a zombie-killing frenzy, especially if listened to through an earbud as done by the punk skinhead assassin in the movie “Diva.”
Alternately, Sinatra singing “I Did It My Way,” with a silenced 22 pistol.
Or Gene Kelly “Singing In The Rain,” if I have to perform zombie killing during inclement weather.
Or “Aqualung” for when I feel a bit of empathy at having to dispatch former friends.

March of the S.O.D. with Sgt. D and the SOD- Stormtroopers of Death

Anything with cannibal corpse, or dying fetuses’ ‘kill your mother, rape your dog’ is also pretty good. Nothing says death better than death metal.

Okay, it’s foreign and metal. But, the repeating english lyrics actually make sense, especially if you take the high land and fire from above.
“Zetsubou Billy” (Billy In Despair) AKA “Eraser Rain” by Maximum the Hormone. THe movie fits well, too.

English Lyrics: http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/deathnote/dnzetsubou.htm
(The Song was used as a credit’s theme for the series “Death Note”, the reason for the KIRA section, as Kira was the alias of the main character as he killed those he deemed unworthy to live, mostly unredeemable criminals)

These are my zombie killing favorites:
“We Bury Our Dead At Dawn” – The Agony Scene
“Meet The Wretched” – Devildriver
“Omerta” – Lamb Of God
“Davidian” – Machine Head
(Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast!!)
“Funeral Bell” – Black Label Society
“Raining Blood” – Slayer

Um. Isn’t the dude listening to the loud music (or just not paying attention) the one that usually has the zombie sneak up behind them and take a bite?
Me, I just want to hear the lovely tune of lead heading down range.

Chris definitely has it right. Pantera. Lots of Pantera.
And Pissing Razors would help, too.
That’s it. Lots of Pantera and Pissing Razors. I know I could dramatically reduce the number of active zombies with that in an iPod.

Ministry “N.W.O.”
or
Muzak (Romero knew what he was doing, dude. That Muzak mall scene from Dawn of the Dead is one of the all time greats.)

I, too, started with the obvious:
Bodies (XXX soundtrack remix)
by Drowning Pool
Then went to the big climactic battle
Animal I Have Become (stripped down acoustic cut)
by Three Days Grace
And my “Piano Man” track is
Bay Day
by Daniel Powder
Hard/death metal is good, but I wanna see the country zombie track.
Not that zombies would ever attack Tennessee or anything. Heck, that film would only be 13 minutes long and 12 would the dead rising out of the ground.
