Is she threatening me?
Jill Porter: How many must die before gun lobby gets message?
Uhm, all of us.
Seriously, Sebastian takes her to task.

I’ve been asked that question before, and I’ll be emailing her with the same response:

How many must die, unarmed and unable to protect themselves from aggression, before we start enforcing the Bill of Rights?
How long will it take for some people to realize that criminals don’t obey gun laws?
“…all illegal guns start out as legal guns…”
So? Most illegal drugs start out as illegal drugs. During Prohibition, all alcohol started out as illegal alcohol. Ban all guns, and then all illegal guns will start out as illegal guns. What’s your point, other than to say that we, the intended victims, are then completely disarmed and defenseless? The criminals then have a more powerful incentive to arm themselves.
How long are we going to tolerate those among us who unendingly campaign against our Constitutionally guaranteed Liberties?

Too bad they don’t have a “cornholio/Beavis&Butthead” html tag: “Are you threatening me?”.
How many of us is she willing to kill to create her little dystopia?

That is the point. Antis are simply either not arguing in good faith or are hopelessly naïve. Sometimes both.
Their incremental activism has a final goal of total citizen disarmament. Pointing out locales where their gun bans are not successful will simply motivate them to expand their bans to include everyone outside that locale. After all, if everyone is disarmed in every part of every country, where will the citiz… I mean, criminals get their guns, right?
Their goal is a world where only governments have weapons. What a happy world that will be. Worldwide benevolent dictatorship. I can hardly wait. As long as the anaconda of government continues its progressive constriction, we should achieve that goal shortly.
“It’s unsatisfying for a long time, but the end is worth it.”

You would think that after more than twenty years of rebuting the propaganda against so-called “assault-weapons” that the news media would begin to report more accurately on the subject. They don’t, of course. The media is hopelessly and irredeemably biased against the truth when it runs counter to their own desired policy outcomes. So it gladdens my heart as I read about declining ratings, declining circulations and declining revenues that these weasels rely upon. Now unemployment inevitably haunts them. Good riddance! They brought it on themselves.

Rhetorical slanted biased hyperbole wrapped in the fantasy of reasoned discourse.
