Are you implying that Al Qaeda’s presence in Iraq, now, during a war that shattered all law and order, validates the claim to a link between Al Qaeda and the old regime, now nearly 5 months deposed?

Some folks have expressed reservations about the quality of police work involved here, and the veracity of the confessions. I think it would be prudent to reserve judgment for a bit about who is responsible.

“But many of the others detained appear to hold few leads, he said, and other U.S. officials said suggestions of links to organized groups abroad, such as al Qaeda, remain premature.
“There are those allegations, but until you have solid evidence to go down that road, it can only be speculation,” said Maj. Rick Hall, executive officer of the 1st Battalion, 7th Marines.”
