Guns in Knoxville
The KNS reports:
Knoxville Police Chief Phil Keith said Wednesday the number of drive-by shootings has significantly decreased over the last eight years, and so has gun violence.
The chief said concerned citizens who called in to tell officers where the criminals were made the difference.
“I wish I could say my officers had a lot to do with it,” Keith said Wednesday. “The community had the most to do with it. They said enough was enough.”
Also, in 1996, Tennessee became a shall issue carry permit state. I think maybe this coupled with the 40 year low murder rate may indicate a pattern.
