All the cool kids are doing it
Via Brian, I decided to take the political compass:
Economic Left/Right: 2.38
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.26
In February, my score was:
Economic Left/Right: 5.12
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -2.21
Getting further left and further libertarian in my old age.

Evidently we pinkos on the RTB are having an effect on you. Shouldn’t be long before we have you marching in demonstrations chanting “No Blood for Oil”.

These quizzes are hopelessly skewed by the way in which they phrase the questions. In order to be truly accurate, a quiz has to ask the same question several times, worded in different ways. That will give a more true feeling of your stance on the issues.
As an example, asking “do you believe in freedom of the press?” will likely get a different response than asking “do you believe newspapers should be able to knowingly print things that aren’t true?” even though the latter is merely a specific implementation of the former.

For what it’s worth:
Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.05
Check that out! I’m almost three times as small-L libertarian as SayUncle is!

Let’s see how I fare on this competing quiz (which is admittedly even more skewed than the one Uncle posted):
Your Personal Self-Government Score is 90%.
Your Economic Self-Government Score is 20%.
(Which makes me “left-liberal” according to their scale).

Back in June I scored 6.00/-3.03.
I thought that you would have scored more libertarian. Never mind – you’re young and have plenty of time to get wiser. 😉

See my suggestion to Uncle in the comments here.

You might be curious about my 90%/20% scores. I oppose wide-open borders, which docked my personal liberty score to 80% (I should have seleced “N” but accidentally hit “M” which is why the 90%). I generally oppose government farm subsides and corporate welfare, so I selected “Y” for that one, hence the 20% score. Other than that, all my answers in the first section were “Y” and all in the second section were “N”

Economic Left/Right: 3.62
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.28
Seems about right to me. The funny thing is when you look at the big chart with all the world leaders on it. None of them are right-libertarians. That means no country in the world is run right to suit me.
I always was a loner…

Yeah, that’s why i’m thinking about seceding from the union 🙂

rich:
How do you define “right libertarian?” You would put tight restrictions on personal freedoms, but no restrictions on economic liberties?

Political Compass
From the Political Compass, I am: Economic Left/Right: -3.12Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.23 which makes me more libertarian than SayUncle, a self-described libertarian….

Political Quiz
A while back, Say Uncle posted the results of his taking a “political compass” quiz. I complained that the test…
