We’re winning
After nearly 12 hours of debate on some 70 amendments, the Wisconsin State Assembly early Thursday passed the bill that would repeal the state’s longstanding ban on concealed weapons.
Under the legislation, people 21 and older who complete gun safety training and pay $113 for a five-year permit would be allowed to carry concealed weapons.
The Republican-controlled Assembly voted 64-35 in favor of Senate Bill 214, which also passed the Republican-controlled Senate on a 24-8 vote on Oct. 24.

The Assembly vote, 64-35, is two short of an override on the expected veto, so we haven’t won yet. My State Senator just got recalled for daring to stand up to the gambling bosses, and his replacement campaigned on a promise to keep [legal] guns off the street. We are leaning on our Assemblyman, but he is a loyal victicrat.
When it does pass, we will have another fight at the county level. Sheriff Clark, who had been my choice for Milwaukee mayor in the upcoming election, has come out against CCW, citing a bogus concern about the safety of his deputies.

Since it’s obviously popular, the governor may want to reconsider the veto. At least, that’s the approach i’d take.
