Needs something
The new Battlestar Galactica was all too convenient. I can see where it’s going and so can anyone smarter than a grapefruit (wow, they have an antiquated computer system as a plot point).
Starbuck is a girl?
Boomer is a girl?
I wasn’t aware from the first series that humans created cylons.
Apollo can’t act.
The new cylon ships looked cool except for the red light moving across the cockpit, which is lame.
The new cylons look cool (not the chick, but the guards at the start . . . actually, the chick looked good too).
Lots of sex in it too.
The ships graphics are neat.
I’ll probably watch it for a while. I expect it to get better but they have to lay down the story and character bios now.

The only thing I can’t put together is I thought the Cylons were reptilian, and created/became the robots over the course of a “thousand yahren”..the imperious leader from the original series was snakelike.
Baltar, played so well by John Colicos, was a traitor, rather than Bill Clinton-esque Baltar played by Callis.
Still, I really enjoyed all the nukes. Quite refreshing to see them used since they are so politically incorrect.

“than Bill Clinton-esque Baltar played by Callis.”
And the award for the longest and/or most paranoid stretch to make a political point ….
Anyway.
They delibertly changed the origins of the Cylons, which I think is great. It sets up the much more intersting question of the consequences of our own actions. Actually, I think the more intesting story would be the lead up to the FIRST Cylon/Human war. At nayrate, its always better when the bad guys think they are doing the good thing – makes for more intersting characters.
The rest of it, I pretty much agree with, but I still enjoyed it.

Long? It was the second paragraph, and the easiest comparison I have ever had to come up with. How is it paranoia? Clinton liked the broads, after all.

Are Baltar’s women largely unattractive assistants? I haven’t seen it, so I can’t really comment on the analogy.

I liked the new show. I was a sperm when the original came out so i watched the re-runs. I thought the (old show) effects were f$%^&*ing horrible, the acting was bad yadda yadda. I laugh whenever I see comments from the lifers who still live in moms basement bitching about how the show has changed for the worse (check out the battlestar galatica fan boards). thumbs up for the new show i say. it should be interesting to see if sci-fi turns it into a weekly series like they did with stargate sg1 (which kicks ass…i’m such a geek)
