Heard on NPR
NPR this evening had a brief interview with John “by the way did I mention I was in Vietnam” Kerry. A summary of three exchanges that really intimate what a liar/hypocrite he is:
1 – Interviewer: George Bush recently defended his military service record. What are your thoughts.
Liar: I never made an issue out of that
2 – Interviewer: Your ads draw attention to your service in Vietnam . . .
Liar: I’ve never made my service in Vietnam cornerstone to my campaign.
3 – Interviewer: You claim to want to get special interests out of politics yet [some organization] has said you’ve received $X in special interest money. Is that consistent with your view?
Liar & Hypocrite: [Some organization] doesn’t have it’s facts straight. I took money from individual lobbyists not organizations.
Some how it makes a difference that the special interest money come from individual lobbyists and not organizations is beyond me. Ah, the future of the Democrat party.

supposedly he also expressed support for FMA, did you hear that?
February 10th, 2004 at 7:36 am
Maybe, if i knew what FMA was.

Federal Marriage Amendment aka Gay Marriage bashing
February 10th, 2004 at 8:50 am
Oh. Sort of. He said marriage was between man and woman. But he supported civil unions that provided the same rights. Then made the asinine point of ‘it doesn’t matter what you call it.’ Which is lame, because he wants to call it one thing and not the other.

OK, if you’re going to call a guy a liar, the least you could do is link to proof that he lied. I would expect that it shouldn’t be too difficult to find specific instances where Kerry took Bush to task on his military service record, or where Kerry made his military service the cornerstone (def. #2) of his campaign.
So let’s have ’em.
I share your cynicism about special interest dollars, but until you can show me a viable candidate that isn’t beholden to SIGs, *YAWN*. After all, your guy is the KING of special-interest backscratching.
February 10th, 2004 at 11:27 am
Well, the NPR piece said some thing to the effect of you’ve been critical of Bush’s service record.
And kerry’s campaign commercial here in ET inundates readers with all his vietnam stuff.
After all, your guy is the KING of special-interest backscratching.
I don’t have a guy. I’m not voting for Bush and I’m not voting in the democrat primary.
February 10th, 2004 at 3:53 pm
If Bush isn’t “your guy,” why do you only apply the term Liar prominently to his opponents and not to him? How many American lives have Kerry’s lies cost?
The bottom line is that you care about Kerry’s lies because you don’t like him, and you don’t care about Bush’s lies because you DO like him. The lies themselves are not in any way relevant.
February 10th, 2004 at 3:57 pm
Well, I do like Bush (he seems personable) i don’t like a lot of his policies. With Kerry, I don’t like his policies and I don’t like him (he’s not personable).
Gasp! Bias on a blog.

heard the same interview while driving home from work. I plan on suing Kerry for almost killing me when I drove off the road in shock.
Yep, they’re lies alright. I find it ironic that the same folks who claim we should read between the lines when they claim that Bush called Iraq an imminent threat, or that Bush led the American people to believe there was a link between 9-11 and Iraq insist on exact quotes when it’s their guy caught lying through his teeth.
February 10th, 2004 at 4:54 pm
I don’t take issue with your personal preference for Bush, which is well known. What I do take issue with is your labeling of Kerry as “Liar” and “Hypocrite” as if those labels are somehow unique to him among the contenders for President (incumbent included).
February 10th, 2004 at 4:58 pm
I didn’t say the issue was unique.
February 11th, 2004 at 1:12 pm
I guess what I’m wondering is, why single out Kerry for such name calling, when virtually every politician on either side of the aisle could equally well be labeled as such, according to your standards?
Also, I’m still waiting for examples of Kerry making a big political issue of Bush’s service record. It’s entirely possible that Kerry has brought up the subject. I’m just not aware of a time when he has. In any recent example, when asked about it, he declines comment. That big fat liar declines comment!
February 11th, 2004 at 1:22 pm
Ok:
But Kerry, at least implicitly, has sought to turn attention to Bush’s military record. In an interview Tuesday night on Fox News, Kerry said: “I’ve never made any judgments about any choice somebody made about avoiding the draft, about going to Canada, being a conscientious objector, going into the National Guard.”
