Could be the end of this site
Some in congress are trying to push legislation that would require disclosure of webmasters’ names, addresses, and phone numbers. If you don’t, you could get fined $150K and get jailed for seven years.
If this law gets passed, I’d be amazed. The fact it’s up for consideration is rather 1984ish.

Clarification: not webmastes per se, but those registering domain names. Potentially a big difference.
People using false ID’s to register domain names is a big problem – I’m not sure this legislation is the answer, I haven’t studied it too much yet – but it shouldn’t be immediately dismissed as a bad idea.

I went ahead and got a private registration for that reason. If they want to find out, they can send a subpoena to the UK and see what happens to it.
