SayUncle gets results
In response to this, I received this email from Darren Harrison:
Dear Says Uncle
Thank you for your e-mail in regards to our error [semi-automatic vs.
automatic] in last week’s story “Federal Ban on Assault Weapons Set to
Expire” by John Erzen. We apologize for the mistake and will run your
correction in next week’s paper.Best Regards,
Managing Editor
I thanked him.
While I am at it, I would like to thank The Sentinel. I have written letters, emailed, and telephoned various media outlets no less than 50 times regarding inaccuracies in reporting on the gun issue. This is the first to respond to me. This may also be the first to issue a correction. For that, they have my respect.

A few days ago I wrote someone at the KNS and showed him the error of his article. Didn’t hear back. Go figure.

It’s things like that which make it hard to be humble at times!

Sorta on topic: Last month I sent letters to my Senators and Congresscritter, urging them to vote against the AWB renewal and any anti-gun legislation. So far, only my (Democrat) Senator has responded.
“I believe the best approach to this important issue is one which strikes a balance between
two important principles: protecting the legitimate rights of law-abiding gun owners and
keeping guns out of the hands of violent criminals and children.”
He mentioned “hunters and sportsmen” 3 times in the letter. Because we all know that’s what the 2nd Amendment is for: hunters and sportsmen.
