Breaking Up Dog Fights
I don’t agree with all of it but this is a good read on dog fights.
Points I don’t agree with: 1) Water is effective at breaking up fights, provided you use a hose and not just a pitcher of water. 2) Two same sex dogs can peaceably co-exist once dominance is established. Just don’t leave them alone unsupervised. If you leave them, crate one or both.

I have never (and I’ve tried three times) stopped a dog fight with water. I’ve always had to wade in (I’m lucky (and stupid, I admit), all my critters recognize me as the alpha male in the area) to break it up.

Mine recognize me too. But I have broken up three fights with a waterhose.

We can’t allow our two female dogs in the house at the same time OR in the backyard. The older one (she’s 8) has absolutely no patience with the younger one (who’s 1). Therefore, we always have the “dog switching” tasks to perform at least 3 or 4 times a day. One in – one out. They give each other the evil eye as they pass each other on the back deck lol
