Today is the day
The vote for the Assault Weapons Ban will be today. Call your senators (1-800-648-3516) and tell them not to vote for it. If you already called last week, call again. Send a fax (don’t send email, they don’t read that stuff). What are you waiting for?

It’s funny. Every time I call my Republican Senator’s office, her aides ask me some kind of question, like “How’s the weather down there?” or “Which county are you calling from again?”
I wonder if they’re trying to filter out the people who aren’t really her constituents.

Could be. I called Frist’s office and someone named nancy answered the phone.
She said: Senator Frist’s office, this nancy.
I said: Hi, nancy. How are you today?
She was shocked that i asked her how she was and actually stuttered a bit while responding. We then had a pleasant conversation. I’m sure frist got my message. It pays to be polite.

I actually wished Sen. Edwards good luck today when I spoke to his office.
He’s gonna need it š
