John Kerry: Second Amendment President?
No, he’s not. The Trainer tells us why with a rundown of Kerry’s record on guns.

The problem I have with such “voted for this, voted against this” arguments from both sides of the aisle is that it’s oversimplistic. If we had single-statute reform, maybe it would make sense, but we don’t. So when Kerry voted against tougher penalties in 1994, was he really voting against those penalties, or was he killing the bill because of some rider.
After all, somebody could post a piece today saying that lots of prominent Republicans voted “NO” to a bill that would have protected gun makers from frivolous law suits, and that would be technically true. Except that they probably weren’t voting against THAT provision, they were killing the bill because of the riders.
As I said, both sides of the aisle are guilty of this tactic.

Valid criticism and it will work both ways.

Well, how about looking at the way they vote on the amendments? While both Kerry and many Republicans voted down the late gun-maker-protection bill, Kerry voted FOR the killer amendments, whereas the Repubs (mostly) voted against them.

Thibodeaux:
That’s a more valid criticism. To bad it’s not what this guy did. If you disagree with his policies, fine. But don’t be disingenuous about how you represent them, as this guy was.

Check out http://www.sportsmenforkerry.com for a somewhat complete list of what he says and does against the Second Amendment. Don’t overlook Senate Bill 1431, which he is a cosposor of.
