All I wanted was a Pepsi
Ravenwood sums up an atrocious story:
That’s right, police raid a man’s home, involuntarily commit him to a mental institution, and then refuse to give him his guns back because he has a history of being involuntarily committed to a mental institution.

“No, Mom, I’m not on drugs! Why don’t you gimme a Pepsi?”
Doesn’t matter, I’ll probably get hit by a car anyway…

I followed the story and it seems he was threatening to kill the neighbourhood children. The article doesn’t say if he has a history (ie, more than one commitment), but I suspect there’s a lot more to this story than presented in the article.

Jane,
If he was threatening children, he should be arrested and convicted for it. Such a conviction would probably disqualify him for firearms ownership.
If that is his fate, I’m happy with that. But there must be due process built in.
