One lame anecdote deserves another
KTK of Lean left quotes:
All I know about economic statistics is that when Clinton was president I had a job.
Well, all I know about economic statistics is that since Bush has been president, our household income has increased significantly.
Mind you, my increase in income has absolutely zero to do with any thing Bush has done.

I wouldn’t call myself a statistics expert, but I’m pretty sure you need more than one data point to draw a conclusion.

What I want to know is: why should the President be able to influence the economy one way or the other? That’s a more serious problem than whether or the mean income went up or the median went down.

Well it doesn’t help that at the beginning of his presidency, the Bush spent so much time talking about how bad the economy was, people started to believe him. 😉

My annual income during all 8 of Clinton’s years was close to poverty level. Since Bush was elected, my annual income has more than tripled.
But that’s because I got off my ass and got a real job, not because of who was President.

My income quintupled during the Clinton years. Then again, my income was teeny-tiny at the beginning of said years. Since Bush took office, it has dropped 20%, although much of that is the result of the dot-com kaplooey. 🙂
