Now, where’d the party of smaller government go?
New budget: $2,400,000,000,000
Projected deficit: $367,000,000,000
Defense: $421,000,000,000
Increase in federal debt: $690,000,000,000
Abandoning the principles your party ran on: Priceless

So true.
So sad.
Interestingly, the things that attracted me most to the Republican Party were:
– small government
– fiscal responsibility
– states’ rights
– individual responsibility
I also like tax cuts, but given the deficit, they’re not really tax cuts — more like “buy political pork now, pay later” loans.
Oh well, at least they’ll protect me the catastrophic devastation of… gay people in wedding gowns.

GOP breaks ranks
the senate today postponed voting on Bush’s $2.4 trillion dollar budget, as moderate ‘Pubs broke ranks over tax cuts in the face of record deficits.
