Wanna make some money?
Next hot trend for blogs and ads is to incorporate advertisements into RSS/XML feeds. Just a prediction, I don’t plan on doing it because I like the ad-free nature of using an aggregator.
Say, can I patent this idea now? I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet.

I would say “no” because generally, an idea must be nonobvious to be patentable. However, ever since I saw a patent number on a “java jacket,” I’ve since concluded that “nonobvious” means “not obvious to anyone who is at least six years of age, or has an IQ above room temperature, or both.”

If it does, I’ll start dropping feeds. When it becomes widespread enough to make that untennable, then I’ll be hacking FoF to make a blacklist, and then see about getting me and the guy who wrote FoF together to make a fortune at $3 an installation.

I’ve already seen one text add in the RSS feed from Christian Science Monitor. That was about a week ago, I guess. Don’t know if it was a glitch or what.
