If your gonna look at the CETME (and a Century Arms one at that) I would suggest the wooden one for slightly more at Aim Surplus.
One thing to be careful of in ordering Century rifles, make sure the seller sends you a close up of the reciever. I’ve found century to occaisionally have spacing problems (well, once, but its a reputation they still havent lived down) as well as not having the best finishes. But hey, its a battle rifle so who cares.

Publicola and Kim du Toit respond to some of the nonsense around the SKS, which seems to be a target for the anti-gunners. They’re claiming it’s an assault rifle (it’s not, even under the silly definition of the 1994 Assault…
I’d choose a Garand, even a Greek return over a Cetme, though the Cetme is a good looking rifle. The Garand has better sights.
And of course you DO have an AR, don’t you? For shooting NRA Highpower Matches in your area and learning how to SHOOT a rifle out to 600 yards from standing, sitting, and prone? -without which there is not much point of just banging around? Correct?
Cetme not competitive at NRA Match, by the way…
Learn to shoot at an NRA Highpower Match. There is one every month in your area. The match director will be glad to see you.

Keep in mind that the CETME is known to destroy brass. Of course, it does have cool theme music…

I would wait the seventy… three days until the AWB sunsets and see what that does to the market on high-cap weapons.

My next evil black rifle will be a DSA-made FN-FAL (SA58).
