The right to keep and bear virtual arms

Even though such bans have never survived in court due to that pesky first amendment, look for a ban on video games coming to a state near you:

Lawmakers in at least seven states proposed bills during the most recent legislative session that would restrict the sale of games, part of a wave that began when the 1999 Columbine High School shootings sparked an outcry over games and violence. None of the measures that passed have survived legal challenge.

I wish the AP would do its damned job and tell us which seven states. This morning I saw another AP report that listed Eddie Bernice Johnson as “a Florida Representative”. Nothing could be further from the truth — she’s my rep (unfortunately) and I’m in Dallas Texas. I know we have some nasty gerrymandering, but it isn’t that bad.

The AP can’t get its facts straight when it does report them, so I guess I am better off with no list than a wrong list. And it will probably end up being six or eight states.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
