Happiest day
The happiest day of your life is when you witness the birth of your child. All the fear you had washes away and a sense of calm coupled with responsibility overpowers over you. It’s indescribable.
The second happiest day of your life is when you can pawn her off on the grandparents for an evening so you and the Mrs. can go have dinner with adults.
Screw you guys, I’m outta here.

The only time I’ve broken down and sobbed since I was kid was just after my son was born. I had been with my wife for like 18 hours of labor, finally he was born healthy and fine at about 1 in the morning. A few minutes later I and my mother-in-law (who was with us in the delivery room) walked down to the waiting room where my parents and her dad were waiting to tell them the good news.
My mom had stepped out to get a drink, and I sat down beside my dad, told them his name (we’d kept it a secret) and just completely lost it from exhaustion and joy. My mom walked in an I immediately felt a stab of terror that she might think something horrible had happened…but we quickly filled her in an everything was fine 🙂

Nope, the happiest day is when you get to spoil your grandchild for a few hours, then hand him back to his parents. 😉

Having your son drive by and pick up the canine for the weekend ain’t half bad either.
