Wow! that hurt
I mean it hurt me. Junior got her shots today. She was a 9 week old trooper. They stuck the needle in and she didn’t flinch. The nurse pressed the plunger down to inject the medicine, and junior started screaming the worst scream I have ever heard in my life. It was heart wrenching. And, worse, it was followed by two more vaccinations. Pretty traumatic experience for her, me, and mom.
I picked her up after to console her. Then the wife had to get some holding time in. It was awful for us both but the baby seemed to forget it pretty quick. I know that it’s for her own good but that doesn’t make it any easier to watch.
I learned something about me today. If I ever had any doubt about my willingness to do violence to protect her, it’s gone now. If someone caused her that much pain and it wasn’t for her good health, I’d definitely use any means necessary to stop them.

Welcome to parenthood.
And this is coming from a guy who came VERRRRRY close to punching the CATHOLIC PRIEST who baptized my son because he poured too much holy water over him and made him cry…
It’s a good test for a gun owner. Because if there was ever any doubt in your mind as to whether or not you’d be able to pull the trigger, it VANISHES when you realize that it is *YOUR JOB* to protect these little ones.
I wouldn’t hesitate for even a second. I know you wouldn’t either.
(FWIW, I had the EXACT SAME reaction to my son’s first shots.)

As a child, I hated needles. Well, I still don’t like them, but at the age of 5, I was terrified.
My mom, my sister and I went to the doctor to get shots for my sister, who was just a baby. She never flinched. However, they made the mistake of bringing me in, too. When I saw the needle going in her arm, I went batshit.
I was bawling, my sister was bawling. It’s the stuff of legends.

It is horrid to watch isn’t it Uncle?
Unfortunately it will just get worse, vaccination days are days you might as well take vacation time for, as you remain traumatized the rest the day.
