Quotes of the day
Yes, two. I watched RepubliCon for the first time tonight. Pataki on Kerry:
Here’s a candidate who has to Google his own name to see where he stands.
Ouch!
Mrs. Uncle on the Republican National Convention:
If they didn’t have September 11th, what would they talk about?

Mrs. Uncle is right. If not for the WoT, I wouldn’t be a Bush supporter, and I might or might not have voted for him.
On the flip side, if it wasn’t for Vietnam, what would Kerry have talked about all this time?

Mrs. Uncle, since we did have September 11th, how can the Democrats NOT talk about it?

So…things that aren’t the government’s concern?

If it hadn’t been for September 11th, I would still be voting for Bush on the basis of abortion (I’m against it). Since I approve of his actions in pursuing the WoT, I’ve got no problems figuring out who to vote for.
I have friends who are Christian pacifists. They also oppose abortion on moral grounds, but they also oppose Bush’s actions with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan. They’re having a much more difficult time figuring out who to vote for. (I think they’re going to end up voting for Kerry, despite my efforts to persuade them that this is a bad idea. Oh well. That’s their right.)
